Welcome to the verge of 2015! I cannot believe this year has gone by so rapidly. My head is spinning. You too?
Well, as we brace for another trip around the sun, I would like to thank you for being part of this very vital ministry in Seattle we call Sanctuary. You have been a part of a rapidly changing neighborhood and a rapidly growing city. Together we have been able to establish some sense of “peace” or flourishing as our neighborhood develops. The Green Bean has been a great source of hospitality and warmth. And, we continue to have favorable relationships with businesses and organizations in North Seattle.
What might 2015 hold for us?
First of all, it looks like we will stick with one service at 10am and build a rhythm for life around that. Your council is spending some time looking into ways articulate how we can be the church together in the years to come. As most of us know, the Christian journey is a trip inward into the depths of our hearts (with goodness to release and sin to be released from). At the same time we journey into Christian Community with others. And, we are God’s people called to be a “light to the nations”, therefore, we choose to journey outward into our world on mission with Jesus Christ. Most all Christian spirituality is built around these three movements: up, in and out. We are going to explore how we might build more of this rhythm into our worship and fellowship life in the year to come.
Please join is in praying about how to live out the up’s, in’s and out’s of Sanctuary. Shoot us any ideas you may have. And, keep your eyes peeled to see what emerges in the winter and spring of the new year.
God bless you and keep you.
Much love,
Randy Rowland
