There is action in the field of church planting with Sanctuary and our Seattle Cluster.  How about these news items!

Fountain Parish, Bellingham

Sean Hall and company are making a difference in Bellingham with service to their neighborhood including a street top mural and they have a second church site at CrossFit gym where Sean is a trainer and now is planting a new church for lifters and fitness buffs. What a great idea. Both churches are growing and Sean is busy making a lot of this happen while also raising a talented and loving family.
Mosaic, Bellingham –  Mosaic is growing steadily after helping plant the Fountain Parish and also assisting Aaron Walters in the Table in South Bellingham. Matt is on leave from preaching for the summer to rest up and then will be back in the Fall beginning to work Mosaic through the process of becoming an organized CRC congregation.  Mosaic ministers to many Western Washington University students and growing families in Bellingham.  Soon, they can be the parent church of much of the work in Whatcom County. Sanctuary will work with Mosaic to ensure that they can smoothly enter into the organized status by holding membership in trust and ensuring that elders are correctly elected, trained and installed to lead the church.
The Harbor, Crown Hill – Congratulations to the Harbor upon the ordination of Jana Koh.  Jana is now a minister of the Word in the CRC and her credentials are held, along with Pastor John Westfall’s, by Sanctuary.  The Harbor is growing its local membership, flourishing with a community garden. Also PATH preschool has had some good early successes. (BE SURE to enroll your kids, grand kids and friends.  To find out how it’s working for others – check in with the Whitney’s.) Also, the Harbor with its growing numbers and full staff will begin membership classes and leadership development work this coming year toward becoming a fully organized CRC church.  We will be working with Harbor as the parent church and making connections with Classis to see that it all works out smoothly.  Go Harbor!
Awake/Aurora Commons, Aurora Avenue – This congregation is making great strides in building the depth and reach of the Aurora Commons.  The church is growing with a preaching team of up to 6 people.  Ben Katt is also working with some emerging missional community leaders toward planting churches around the Seattle area. Ben and company are hitting it out of the park. Ben will be preaching at Sanctuary on August 25th.  I am sure we will hear more about that work his crew is doing at that time.
Roots, Capital Hill – Simon Cunningham is building a leadership team, connecting with Emmaus Road Church and formulating a look-forward ministry plan that we all believe will be conducive to more growth and outreach in one of the most gospel-resistant neighborhoods in Seattle.
Pray for all of our planters and their important work!
Randy Rowland
