Please pray about the possibility of a new CRC church being planted in West Seattle sometime later this year.
Chris Fulkerson and his wife Christina are feeling a call to plant there with another couple who are graduates of the Seattle School. Chris is a gifted pastor and preacher. He learned a lot from a plant that went stagnant at about 30 people who were not committed to the mission of Christ as much as they were committed to having Chris as a very skilled chaplain and Bible study leader. This is one of the perils of starting too slow and too small when planting a church. Chris is ready to take the risk again with much more knowledge and a commitment to a more fruitful process which we have discussed much.
Right now, everything is in the state of prayer and discernment. Our church planting team at Sanctuary will go to work on this idea and pray as will the Mission Multiplication Committee of Classis Pacific Northwest. In the meantime, pray for the Fulkerson’s and his potential partner in West Seattle, also named Chris.
West Seattle is a little short on churches to begin with and very short on churches rooted in Reformed Theology. The Presbyterian presence there is becoming very weak and there are no CRC or RCA churches there at this time.
