We have two exciting new sources of church planting in our midst. Ben Katt and Clarence Presley. Ben is working one quarter time to identify new possible leadership to urban missional church communities. So far he has got one group exploring planting in South Park, near Boeing Field. And, another church may well be emerging in Ballard. There are several more that it is premature to mention at this time.
While Ben is focusing on young urban adult starts, Clarence Presley is spending 25% of his time focusing on multi-ethnic church planting. Clarence is already working with about a dozen emerging leaders in South Seattle. A good number of those already lead small, non-affiliated churches that might well be interested in becoming CRC. We have been too Dutch and too white for too long – and we have engaged Clarence to help us enter into a world of “every tongue and tribe and nation” as a denomination.
These two men are a part of our Seattle Ministry Cluster and are adding great momentum to our movement to expand the kingdom of God through new and fresh ministries and church plants. Pray for these guys as they labor in Christ’s field.
