Fire news

Friends, it is with much sadness that I write to let you know that early this morning the Green Bean Coffeehouse and the three other restaurants next to it burned down. Noone was hurt but the building seems to be a complete loss. We are sad for the... loss of this beautiful space but we want you to know that the heart of the Green Bean is not what was in the space, it wasn't the chairs and the tables...the heart of the Green Bean is YOU, our customers and our friends...the heart of the Bean is the community that has formed and thrived around it for the past 4 years. And that lives on! We are adding a blog to our Green Bean website and will be updating it as we figure things out.

I'm so so sad for your loss...and for this community's loss! Praying for your steps forward from here. May God's grace reign over this situation to bring Him glory!

This is heartbreaking, but - at the same time - I know that God can take this loss and turn it around and make it into something beautiful. Already a strong community, I can see this bringing folks even closer together.

Is there talk of a gathering of some sort this evening? I know many people would love to get together to share love, support and prayer.
